Layla has followed her childhood dream of being a carpenter just like her father. She has always shown a passion for the role from the moment she could walk and talk; getting involved with garden projects with great enthusiasm and gaining a good understanding of tools and their uses. Recently she has been expanding her knowledge and skill set, becoming a dependable member of the team at JKL Construction & Carpentry Ltd and beginning a promising career in the industry. This project saw Modplan Building & Refurbishment Contractors take on the extensive refurbishment of a Grade II Listed property, including the demolition and replacement of an exterior barn. The new barn consists of a timber frame built using materials reclaimed from the original, and features striking vaulted ceilings and external timber cladding. This modern bathroom is housed within the new structure together with a small kitchenette area, impressing the judges with "a fantastic finish in-keeping with the period but with a very modern twist." Despite logistical complications the build was delivered on-time, within budget and with a high specification of fixtures and fittings.

Bouncing back from the brink following a struggle to recoup more than £300,000 from a bad debtor, Interprove Limited have demonstrated a renewed commitment to customer service that has truly gone above and beyond. The judges praised the company’s “drive to maintain a business on the brink when [it] could have been easier to fold and start again...", as well as their openness to flexible hours, supporting those in need, and use of CITB funds to support training. Their commitment to promoting employees from within has also seen them retain staff and grow their business and their client-base to all new levels. The company’s future now looks to be in safe hands.

This renovation project at St. Mary’s Church saw Punch Construction create a gallery for a six-tonne Klais church organ - re-assembled on-site after being sent from Germany - to serve as a focal point for the congregation. This Master Builder’s work at this Grade I Listed building is truly divine; featuring a hand-cut oak fascia, balustrade and staircase treads as well as glass design elements crafted to complement the angles of the organ. One of only seven instruments of its kind in the UK, this extraordinary centrepiece now finds fitting company in the unique surroundings Punch Construction have carefully created for it.

This luxury new-build home is made using a steel frame and features its own cinema room, a green meadow roof and an external heated seating area for all-season dining. The ground floor offers a central viewing area which grants uninterrupted views from the front entrance right through to the rear garden, where a beautiful sculpture completes the stunning aesthetic. Mason Construction’s client was seeking to make this their retirement home, the master suite is therefore fitted with its own bathroom and walk-in dressing room on the ground floor and is accessible via a secretly detailed door in the cladding. Faced with a condensed works schedule, Full Works Facilities Management Limited worked with supreme speed and accuracy to complete this kitchen renovation. The project involved stripping out an old kitchen and removing a corner of the house in preparation for the new design. Focusing on creating a renovation that was sympathetic to the existing structure, this Master Builder brought in stylish Italian accessories and implemented a double-sided glazed façade to provide both form and function. This renovation of a dated Victorian home saw Property Revolutions take on a challenge that was both technical and logistical in nature. This Listed cottage holds great historical importance, but despite once being occupied by a monk it needed significant refurbishment. M J Parratt & Son’s thorough restoration was no small task, requiring new lime mortar pointing to the stonework, restoration of the guttering, the conversion of the existing sitting room into a kitchen and of the adjoining barn into a sitting room, plus repairs and new insulation in the bedroom. The attention to detail shown by this Master Builder delighted their client, who stated: “I hope to stay in this cottage for the rest of my life, it wasn’t just a renovation project, it is my home and I love it.”
