Woods Quay is a new reception and berthing pontoon situated on the Victoria Embankment, nestled between Cleopatra’s Needle and Waterloo Bridge. The clients, Wood’s Fleet, have been Thames waterman since 1866, using their experience to offer private charter events with great care for beautifully crafted spaces, hospitality and the river. Chair, Alan Woods, was awarded an MBE for services to river travel in 2020.

Woods Quay was aimed at creating a unique space on the site of an original Victorian pier, which would allow the client to improve and expand their business into a yet new decade. The reception pontoon consists of three spaces: a bar, a tasting kitchen for private hire and a semi-open reception area for Woods River Cruises customers. Woods Quay was carried out through planning by Bere Architects, but the design was re-engineered, detailed and built by Architecturall.
