In this instance we built a new garden building with a combined summer room. The construction had some extensive ground works to start off in which we had to over come an existing well, this meant a lot of steel work in the footings and ground slabs. The construction was of concrete block cavity wall clad in oak boards. The roof was built with steel in the ridge and cut rafters hung and fixed. Spanish slate best grade was then used for the finished look. The building was seperated across the middle to create a large garden room and the other side was a heated room with natural stone floor, decorated and a feature log burner to the center. Like a lot of projects the bi-folds are aluminium with hardwood double doors to the garden room.

This project was to intergrate a new kitchen extension with a well established listed building. We used new stone in this instance as it was the best match for the job in terms of colour and appearance. A mop rolled lead roof was built around a new aluminium roof latern that blendid in well, which was also used on the canopy above the entrcance. Hardwood timber windows and doors were bespoke to match the profiles of the existing house. Internall we knocked through the original external wall to open up the once kitchen into a very spaciuos kitchen and dining area. All had to built into the bank of the propertys garden whilst also constructing a new walk way and steps leading up. All of this is no problem when using the water tanking systems we use meaning everything is kept free from damp and cold.

This project was to change an existing cow shed in to 4 self contained holiday accomadations and a large conference room. We started by removing all the existing walls, roof and cladding which left us with a bare steel frame. We installed a new steel frame incoporating the existing and constructed new walls to all side in cotswold stone with a timber frame section to the top half cladded in a timber profile to match surrounding buildings. The roof was a tile affect panel roof which is already insulated giving a high thermal value. All the windows and doors were aluminium which complmented the work well. Internally we fitted each apartment out with new kitchens, spacious double bedrooms and large shower rooms all with built in units. The large conference room had its own kitchen and hall space where we instaled oak beams to a vaulted ceiling built inside the new roof.

This project like many was one we enjoyed carrying out. As you can see from the photos this was a very tired barn that had stood for many years on a farm to the point of near collapse. like all projects we are fortunate to undertake, this was tasked with having to manage many risks and incorporating new building methods in order for this to work, though using and restoring as many of the existing materials and features along the way. Working closely with our client we achieved thier vision and our goal in restoring this barn into something new and usable which was a three bedroom home.
