This Grade 2 listed stunning private residence on Marygate in the heart of York was once a humble house with outdated features and limited space, this property has undergone a complete renovation that has left it almost unrecognizable from its former self.

The new extension now houses a spacious and modern dining area that seamlessly blends with the newly fitted kitchen.

Upstairs, the bedrooms were reconfigured to create a more functional and efficient layout. A much-needed upstairs bathroom was added, and a first-floor laundry room was also incorporated into the design.

Finally, the attic was transformed into a beautiful bedroom with plenty of natural light. The addition of new dorma windows allows light to flood into the space, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The house now boasts modern amenities and features while retaining its charm and character.

This private residential project in the village of Stockton on the Forest Northeast of the City of York, consisted of a ground floor extension to the front of the property, including stone copings to the parapet and three pyramidical lanterns.

CG formed a new internal structural opening to create access to the newly built utility as well as fitting a new Howdens kitchen.

The exterior of the property was re-rendered in an antique white smooth render, with new dove grey uPVC windows and doors which were supplied and fitted by North Yorkshire Windows.

The bespoke built oak porch was handmade by our joiners with 150×150 French oak beams – all cut, machined and built on site.

To match the newly built porch and new render, our team laid Indian stone paving pointed with a buff colour resin pointing system to bring the new look of this property to life.

This grade 2 listed mid-terrace townhouse on The Mount in the centre of the City of York was tastefully restored and renovated throughout. Works included internal alterations and a rear extension to provide extended living and entertaining areas.

A large kitchen extension to the rear with aluminium sliding doors to the garden included a zinc roof and rooflight. The Polished Micro Top flooring to kitchen floor brought that modern touch to this period property.

The basement was converted providing an additional guest bedroom with a large fully tiled bathroom and utility room. Reconfiguration of the ground floor created a cosy snug, large study, and grand entrance. The existing Victorian spiral timber staircase was retained and refurbished, and the walls finished with polished venetian plaster.

To the upper floors the bedrooms and living areas were completely renovated providing bespoke dressing areas, new ensuites and a family bathroom.
