This project began when our clients purchased the wrong house in the right location.
The bungalow was falling to bits after standing empty for many years. However, the property was in a prime spot, close to Aberdeen city, in a desirable neighbourhood and surrounded by mature trees.
Having fallen in love with the site, our ambitious clients opted to knock down and start again. They dreamt of building a new contemporary city home, with a degree of privacy more akin to a rural property.
Our challenge was to bring their dream, two-storey ‘Arbor House’ to life.
The modern minimalist design, by Brown & Brown Architects, demanded the preservation of the bungalow’s original stone walls to create a skin behind which the new property could sit – resulting in a private, sheltered and impressive family home for decades to come.
