Create For You

We found Create’s details on FMB's website wanting guidance on an extension rebuild. We contracted Create Consulting to draw up plans and then took them to the council for a pre-planning meeting where they were pretty much approved there and then.  A great start!  Next we needed to serve party wall notices, we asked Create to do this on our behalf - it was the most stressful part of the project, and only a paper exercise between us and our neighbours! Create Developments couldn’t start work immediately so we got our own contractors to start refurbishment works. We soon realised this was going to be a big, time consuming project that could quickly get out of hand, financially and technically. You need one company to take overall responsibility for a project of this size. We ended up contracting Create Developments to help us with a complete renovation and extension, future proofing it for a loft conversion. Create delivered a detailed specification (32 pages!) with exact materials and costs, broken down into phases.  Once agreed, a project plan was drawn up and works started. We met with the team on a weekly and ad-hoc basis to go through works and where we were financially. Create was happy to work with a few of our own contractors – they provided technical oversight and managed them on our behalf. It turned out to be a blessing: who knew windows could be so involved! Building Control didn’t find a single issue on their inspections and when it came to our snagging list at the end, we could hardly find five things to put on it. Create’s builders were professional, neat and respectful of neighbours (we received compliments from neighbours – had scaffolding up and pavement blocked for almost a year!) and very accommodating with various requests we had. This was a big and expensive project. We are super pleased we engaged Create to help us realise our dream home. We will most certainly call on them in the future

testimonial - I moved into my house in July 2017 knowing that I wanted to do extensive work on it – a complete renovation alongside changes and additions to the internal and external spaces. As a single woman it was important to me that I found a builder that I could trust, who would listen and who was open and honest not only about the finances but also about the build options available to me – basically a builder who would have my best interests at heart and who would be as committed as I was to making the house into a home for my daughter and myself. The main challenge was getting planning permission to move the bathroom upstairs, which was not a given as we are in a Conservation area. I employed Create to basically rebuild my house from top to ground and they worked hard to create a beautiful new house. Despite the length of time it took, I was always delighted with their workmanship and skills and their efforts to achieve what I wanted. They aspire to high standards in their work and were always unfailingly polite and pleasant to have around. They have also been excellent at dealing with any after care that needed fixing. I couldn’t have hoped for a better result.

We’re delighted with the work Create did on our home refurbishment – an ambitious renovation of a Victorian conversion flat, conducted whilst we were in residence. We provided the design and left them to solve all the tricky details of implementing it. They are real problem solvers and carry out their work with precision and ingenuity. You get what you pay for with Create, the attention to detail and quality of the finish are of the highest standard. Our project was challenging from the onset because the properly is in a conservation area and despite numerous planning submissions and appeals I was ultimately not permitted to do what I wanted to the loft space (through no fault of Create) and so I was left with a very awkward space with limited head height. Create came up with a brilliant solution for the space and created a beautiful spare room and en-suite that I am very happy with. The project management throughout the build was streamlined and efficient, I always felt Create were on top of things, the communication was great. The budget was transparent and all costs were signed off by us ahead of any work being carried out, there were no surprises. The wider team and all Creates contractors were courteous, professional and friendly.

Create managed the replacement and extension of our kitchen, a complex job including the introduction of new structural steel work, the installation of a roof-light plus bi-fold doors and a wet under-floor heating system. They also built a feature brick wall using re-cycled bricks from demolition and installed a new limestone floor, kitchen cupboards, granite works surfaces, plumbing and electrical appliances. Andre and the team managed the project from inception through to installation and snagging and their scrupulous attention to detail throughout was exceptional. Their willingness to meet on site to discuss matters as the project progressed was also extremely helpful. Create’s team were friendly, accessible, supplied clear and accurate cost estimates, tightly managed the project and were meticulous in ensuring perfect finishes.
