Dean recently carried out the prep work and installation of our fabulous kitchen. Dean and his men arrived promptly every day. Any mess was completely cleared at the end of each day. Our job turned out to be much more complicated than expected, needing a new floor installing and subsequent damp proofing, throughout the whole process Dean kept us informed of what was involved and any additional costs and materials required. The actual fitting of the kitchen was fabulous and fitted to a really high standard. I would highly recommend Dean Bickerton Ltd . Excellent team of builders-highly recommended! Dean provided a quote and explained everything before commencing work. He kept us informed throughout the process if anything needed to be changed, or if there were any additional costs. We had a side double storey extension and a rear extension, including demolition of a garage and a conservatory, and every person that came on site as part of the work was excellent and made the whole process stress-free. The site was always left clean and tidy, and any disruption was kept to an absolute minimum. Dean and his team were friendly, helpful and efficient and explained everything to us-keeping us updated at all stages. The team are all exceptionally good at what they do, working to a very high standard and offered great advice throughout the process. We simply cannot recommend Dean Bickerton and his team highly enough. Our project involved extending what was the old scullery to our Victorian house, which is in a conservation area, and then installing a new kitchen. We chose Dean because of his honesty, his understanding of what I was trying to achieve, the extra ideas he gave me, and the fact that his team includes all the crafts needed to complete our project from start to finish. Also, his quotation was sufficiently detailed for us to see that he had really thought through what was entailed in the work and was very competitive. Our finished kitchen is simply stunning. D Bickerton LTD have recently completed a kitchen extension and garage conversion for us and we could not be happier with the end result! We asked a few builders to quote for our work and it was already here that Dean’s professionalism, knowledge, expertise and attention to detail were apparent. We required a three room extension on the rear of our semi detached house, so that in our older age, we could live downstairs and treat the house as a bungalow. By word of mouth, we were given D Bickerton Ltd as the best company to fulfil our requirements. They are an experienced and highly skilled team. Everyone of “the lads” was polite, friendly and eager to offer innovative suggestions to make something more practical and user friendly. Despite working in frost, fog, rain and sun, they retained their sense of humour, played music and drank gallons of tea!! It was so refreshing to see people who were really enjoying their work. So now we have a new, modern kitchen, an orangery, a spare bedroom, a shower room with toilet and the whole area, front and back, was tidied and landscaped. We feel that despite Covid 19, Brexit, the on site challenges, and the dreaded VAT, Dean gave us a very fair and realistic price for the exceptional work that was done at our home. Dean also project managed the build throughout. We feel blessed to have had Dean and his team construct our "home for the future", which we are enjoying right now!!

Having sought a number of quotes from various builders, we choose Dean and his team from D.Bickerton Ltd. We had various discussions and agreed the scope of works and a start date. From the start of the project, it was obvious that Dean and his team worked in a very professional manner and given the size of the initial excavation and foundation construction for the extension, work progressed at a suitably pace. I am fairly experienced in construction projects myself through work but you only realise when you are ‘living’ through one yourself, there are so many different tasks which need to be completed in order to enable you to move onto the next task. During all works Dean and I had regular update meetings to discuss any issues and agree changes or finer details of each area. Once the extension was built, work commenced on the internal re configuration. All works, new build and reorganisation work have been carried out to the highest standard and we are truly pleased with the end results. Nothing was too much trouble and every silly question from me was answered honestly. Once the last snagging had been resolved, we settled the final stage invoice and the extra/overs that we had discussed and agreed clearly as the build went along. Dean and his team have done a very professional job and you can see the attention to detail. When disturbing some existing parts of the house and roof, the team would go the ‘extra mile’ to ensure the original parts are maintained or modified to suit up to date building requirements, ensuring no nasty surprises as a consequence of disturbing the existing structure. I know Dean and his team are always busy, he was recommended to me and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anybody.

We first contacted Dean when we were looking to convert 2 cottages into 1 property. We provided him with detailed plans, electrical, lighting and plumbing schedule, and the initial quote was well detailed and accurate. The start date was as promised, and the project ran to time. Due to the age and complexity of the old building there were a lot of unknown until the work started, Dean and his team did a great job of explaining changes as they happened and any extra work was costed and explained before being undertaken, so the whole process was transparent with no “surprises” at the finish. Communication was excellent throughout and minor snagging was completed very efficiently. It should be noted that snagging was very insignificant, as the quality, attention to detail and overall workmanship was of a very high standard. The D Bickerton LTD team are a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend them.

Dean and his team undertook renovation works. This involved knocking down and bricking up walls, replacement of ceiling, electrical work, roofing, bricklaying and plumbing. I live in an old property which required sympathetic treatment. I had around 5 quotes for the work and Dean’s sat fairly in the middle. However, it was on Dean’s visit out to quote that I was immediately impressed with his professional approach and knowledge. He was asking questions that none of the others had asked and despite having thought the job through and having made a comprehensive list of everything that needed doing, his expert eye brought other considerations in. This made the quote all the more accurate, and in the end the only extras I paid for were amendments I made along the way. Dean was recommended via a friend of a friend; I did not know him before he worked for me but I can absolutely 100% recommend him too and do so without a moment’s hesitation. He has gone above and beyond the level that I was expecting. Every single one of his team completed their part in an expert and high quality way. They showed really impressive craftsmanship, taking care over seemingly small details when needed, to ensure that the finished job is so beautifully carried out and something to be very proud of. They blew me away with their eye to detail and they have preserved historical features that were already there and emulated them in the new building works completed. There was somebody on site every day and they never stopped.They all spoke to each other, to me and neighbours with courtesy and respect and I felt totally comfortable having them in my home and leaving them. The blend of excellence in building skill across all trades, sympathetic restoration, craftsmanship and congenial manner means that I would never use another builder again. I would always wait for Dean in future and I feel lucky to have found him to make my home look so beautiful.

I have recently had building work done by D Bickerton and his team. We had a supporting wall removed down stairs to make one large living room and dinning room. From the start Dean was very professional, he explained things to us and was able to give us flush walls and ceilings (instead of having pillars and beam on the ceiling) which other builders said could not be done, but Dean explained it was possible and it has all been passed by regulations. I am very pleased with the work that has been completed, it had been done to the highest standard. His team are professional, they kept the house tidy at all times as much as possible and cleaned after themselves. They also were able to complete other work at the time when we had unexpected problems. I would definitely recommend him and will be using Dean Bickerton for other jobs in the future.
