Dan and his team did an amazing job of replacing our interior doors, with bespoke fittings. Dan advised, sourced and delivered the doors on time and within budget. It has transformed the interior of our property. I would definitely recommend Dan and his team, high-quality craftsmanship was displayed during the job. The team were polite and courteous thought the four days they spent with us clearing up after themselves and being very respectful of our property at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend Dan and his team of highly talented carpenters.

Building my new home! I embarked on our new project to build our dream home near Staverton South Devon. I set about finding a builder to help me complete this large project and I was recommended to speak to Dan Cook from Dan Cook Carpentry and Building LTD, through a contact at my local golf club. When I spoke to Dan, I understood why he had been recommended so highly, as I instantly observed a builder who understood his potential client's needs and built brilliantly on our plans with some innovative ideas since we instructed the work to him. I have relied on and trusted in Dan's advice as the project has proceeded. From the moment Dan and his team arrived on site they have been extremely professional and attentive to our needs, Tom and George deserve particular praise for their continued focus to deliver the project to Dan's high standards. Dan's ongoing communication of the progress he was making was second to none and particularly when on site I valued our catch-ups, indeed the interactions have forged a friendship which I fully value. The workmanship and in particular carpentry skills have been particularly impressive. After a lifetime of travelling the world and living in Australia, France and across the UK my husband Roger and I have settled back in Devon in our wonderful 1930's bungalow, that has been totally transformed after we were recommended a brilliant builder Dan Cook! When we found our property it was clear we had to modernise it and make it bigger for our needs, having asked around a friend said you should get Dan Cook to come and have a look. I was also told I should get more than one quote, but after meeting Dan, the confidence he gave Roger and me through his understanding of our needs including timescales and budget, we commissioned Dan and his expert team to do the work. It was the best decision we made, Dan's expert eye and the suggestions he made to our build was well received and the craftsmanship of Dan and his team was truly world class. Dan also gave us great advice about where to purchase our beautiful kitchen. Dan completed our precious house transformation on time and on budget. We asked Dan to do a few extra jobs on top of the build such as our wonderful terrace at the back of the house, this was added to the work schedule with no fuss and delivered on time. I have no hesitation in recommending Dan Cook Carpentry and Building Ltd and in fact, I have recommended him to my daughter!

My wife Tara and I had for a long time, wanted to give our beautiful townhouse in the centre of Chudleigh a modern makeover after living in it for over a decade. We wanted a modern space that could accommodate our children's needs too. Our plans included removing a wall to create, open plan living and a new kitchen. Initially, we had instructed a builder to create our dream living space, once the work had started very quickly our dream became a nightmare as the builder delivered shoddy and dangerous workmanship. This led to the builder leaving the job and us in the lurch, an extremely stressful situation! We were left with a supporting wall removed and no adequate structural support. I was desperate to find someone to help us quickly! I had heard locally about Dan and I gave him a bell to plea for some help. Dan, immediately came round and quickly made the building safe and although couldn't start the work straight away, he amazingly within a few short weeks had moved his busy work schedule around to accommodate our work - this was amazing client care! Dan also looked at the original plan of works and following discussions about how he would complete the work, Dan made some expert suggestions in the design of the kitchen giving us more workspace and opening up the living room by keeping the amazing chimney breast exposed, we would never have visualized how these small tweaks, could make such a massive change to the look of the original design. Whilst on site Dan's team were polite, courteous, clean and tidy and they knew every day what was expected of them, because of the detailed communication Dan shared with them during the build and it was all completed within the timescales committed to. I would 100% recommend Dan and his team, not only did they save the day and get us out of a dire situation, the quality of workmanship and attention to detail was world-class. 10 out of 10 Dan!"

Back in November of 2017, we were struggling to look after my elderly father, who lived on his own in Torquay and at the age of 83. He was becoming frail and needed a lot of help. This meant my husband and I traveling back and forth to help out and with two children and us both working, our lives had become stressful and we needed things to change. We were considering converting our garage so my father could move in, but not really knowing if and how it could be done within the budget we had so we needed to find an expert to help & advise us. After chatting with some friends we were highly recommended to contact Dan Cook who had done some work for them, so we gave Dan a call. After meeting with Dan we really felt he understood our challenges as a family and that we needed to progress the garage conversion. By April of 2018, Dan was on site completing the work, having helped us design the conversion with an expert eye for detail. Dan's team led by Ian on site, were the cleanest and tidiest workers we have had the pleasure of meeting and they were completely respectful of our living space at all times. Dan was on site to check progress and helped speed things along to get the conversion completed on time and within our budget. Dan also was able to change the build to accommodate and add things we wanted such as an additional cupboard for storage, additional sockets for power, and adaptations to meet Dads needs. He did this with no moans or groans - Superb! Dan was a real perfectionist and the job was completed to an incredibly high standard. I believe it is a rare thing these days, that a team in a carpentry and building business has such integrity to deliver on what they say they will! The garage conversion has made life so much easier as we can now have dad with us at home. The peace of mind this has given us is priceless. Moving closer to my family "After many happy years living in a small village on Dartmoor, the time came for Ivor my husband and myself to move onto the next chapter in our lives and to leave our home, to move closer to our daughter in the picturesque town of Chudleigh. We bought our new house in an idyllic private little cul-de-sac with some stunning country views, the house was built in the early naughties so modernisation and remodeling was required. So where to start - a builder was required and so after a number of conversations, Dan Cook Carpentry and Building had been highly recommended, so we commissioned the work. From the start of the conversation Dan put us completely at ease, it was clear to me that Dan understood my desired end result almost immediately and helped me further visualize what the transformed interior of the house could look like. Dan also got that the living space he was creating for us was crucial to making this house (which was a downsizing purchase) our own. Indeed he knew that part of the remodeling was creating "Monique's Room" to make me feel really at home. From start to finish Dan and his team completed the work to the highest of standards and I felt that all of the team were well briefed to deliver their daily work schedule. Dan consistently communicated progress and the tidy working practices respected that this was our home. The project was completed on time and within the agreed budget. My final comment, however, has to be the amazing craftmanship shown by Dan a skilled carpenter, he transformed a precious piece of French Elm brought back to England from our previous home in France, into an amazing table that now has pride of place in our amazing new living space created by Dan and his team. We have been extremely lucky to have had Dan complete this transformation of our home!"
