Case Study Video - After stripping out and removing the rear walls, we built a new chimney stack to house a wood burner. The ceiling within the converted garage area was raised, vaulted and fitted with electric opening roof windows. The reclaimed brick extension was fitted with aluminium French doors and fixed full height windows. We installed a rolled lead roof, a rubber roof system and a reclaimed slate roof across the property. A bespoke Hampton Shaker-style kitchen was designed to complement the period of the property. Lighting, flooring and interior decoration added the finishing touches.

Case Study Video - Westwood Cottage is a Grade II listed building of historical and architectural significance in the rural village of Hampton in Arden. Purchased by our clients at auction, the dilapidated property required full renovation.
Starting with the architectural design and planning process, all construction work and alterations had to be applied for and approved by local authorities to protect the building.
The renovation was then a huge operation, calling on all of Hampton Group's specialist trades and services. Working closely with the owners, we transformed their 17th Century cottage into their dream home, accentuating the Grade II listed features along the way.
 

Extending upwards above the garage and kitchen created a home with a larger first floor. Before building up we removed the kitchen roof and a section of the garage roof. Steel beams and a column were fitted to support the new storey. The entire side of the upstairs was removed and new steels installed to support the roof structure. Stud walls were erected to separate the new rooms. The new space allowed for four double bedrooms including two master bedrooms wit en suite bathrooms and a large family bathroom. Externally, we completed the extension with a seamless rendering to match the existing house.

Case Study Video - Architectural plans proposed using the area between the house and shared passageway to form a side return extension. Initially, we removed the internal ground floor walls and large steelwork was erected to support the side and rear of the house. A wet underfloor heating system was installed across the entire floor. Three fixed roof windows were fitted and large crittall bi-fold doors were installed leading out to the garden. We designed, manufactured and installed a Shaker-style kitchen. Herringbone flooring, bespoke coving and a period colour scheme completed the interior design.

Case Study Video - Our team completed a strip out and installed brick pillar supports to form the foundation for the new steel beams. Walls were cut out and lintels fixed into place ready for the insertion of floor-to-ceiling windows. A new drainage system was fitted within the kitchen island, and a wet underfloor heating system was installed. The garage space was reconfigured to create a new utility room and cloakroom which enabled access from the hallway. A bespoke Hampton kitchen was designed, built and fitted into the new space.

We removed the entire back wall of the house, underpinned the area and laid new foundations for the extension. Reclaimed bricks were sourced for the new brickwork, which blended seamlessly into the existing building. Large bi-fold doors and roof windows were built into the extension, which created more natural light within the kitchen and allowed for an unrestricted view of the garden. A wet underfloor heating system was installed, and a complete electrical and lighting design service was provided. Our kitchen designers worked closely with our client to deliver a stunning high-gloss kitchen that fitted perfectly into the new larger space.

A new single-storey extension was designed to create an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. We demolished the old conservatory, moved existing drains and laid new foundations. New steels formed the shell for the blockwork, followed by a fibreglass flat roof with four roof windows. Oak bi-fold doors were fitted internally to link the existing lounge with the new space. Cedar cladding provided a contemporary contrast to the existing rendered building. The selection of porcelain tiles ensured an exceptionally hard wearing, anti-slip surface. Electric slim frame aluminium sliding doors provided a seamless link between the indoors and the outside space.

The interior demolition was the most challenging phase, requiring a huge excavation effort to remove the bank’s underground vault. The vault door weighed 3 tonnes and had to be hauled out by a truck, whilst the bullet proof security glass from the bank's counter took some serious hammering to break up!
The downstairs space was then fitted out as a showroom, whilst the building was extended to the rear and upwards to create an upstairs office.
A unique feature of the building is the large orangery roof, allowing natural daylight into the open plan office. Downstairs, the showroom houses Hampton’s flagship kitchen collection, with a ‘Construction Gallery’ offering windows, roofing and other related construction services.
