The project also included an internal reconfiguration of the existing space to create a new kitchen dining area. The design included modern architectural details, including creative lighting and a clever use of both natural and artificial light sources to create a bright and welcoming space. The extension was seamlessly connected to the new terrace area through corner opening sliding doors, which also allowed for easy access and increased natural light to flow into the space. Internally, the front of the house retained it's character charm with a full refurbishment of the traditional entrance hall, staircase and living room. New joinery, a refurbished WC and simple yet elegant utility room helped to modernise the ground floor and create a transition through to the modern rear extension. The feature window seat, modern kitchen and sunken seating area draw you through to the landscaped garden. Relaying drive adding a new front wall and gates
This project involved re-laying a 200m2 driveway, building new front walls and installing two wooden electric gates and wooden fencing.

This involved removing all the existing driveway stones, installing ducts for the electrics to the gate area, levelling the drive area and digging the foundations for the new walls.
The drive was then relaid, new brick walls erected, wooden fences installed, electric gates installed and automated, intercom wired in the house and pedestal lights fitted.

We also built a side extension adding a study, ground floor bathroom and utility room. The house was fully refurbished from top to bottom with new electrics, bathrooms, flooring, internal doors and re-decoration. At the front we also laid a new drive, installed a perimeter wall with iron railings and a new made to measure wooden front door. At the rear we installed a new patio with steps down to the garden, re-turfed and added borders. Read less

We commissioned Happy Building to undertake the design of our proposed rear extension. Our requirements were not straightforward and yet Valter and his architect took everything on board and provided us with a range of options. Very professional, good fun to work with and, perhaps most importantly, they listened to what we wanted and also put forward their own ideas. We would thoroughly recommend them.

The project involved relaying the drive, building a new front wall and installing electric gates and lights. Valter and Jenny from Happy Building were great. They kept me informed, discussed changes and were reasonable with their quote and the variations. They undertook the work efficiently and managed through the challenges as they arose. Will definitely use them again.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Happy Building. My project was a two storey extension and complete refurbishment of a house that had barely been updated since the 1950’s. From our opening meeting we built up an excellent relationship with Valter and this continued through the entire build. The work started on time and over a six month project only ran a couple of weeks over the scheduled end date which is pretty impressive. We were lucky to have Brigen as our foreman – he’s hugely experienced and nothing was too much bother for him. I’d be lying if I said there weren’t ups and downs over the course of the build but that’s to be expected; the end result is fantastic and we’re so thrilled to now be living in our dream home. Thank you!

We contracted Happy Building to do a full house refurbishment, loft-conversion and extension. From the start, Valter, Beatriz and the team have been very helpful and understanding of our requirements. The first point contact is with Valter, the MD, which provides reassurance. In addition, he is always ready to answer queries, flexible to our needs and easy to talk to. Furthermore, they provide us with suggestions and recommendations to aid our decision-making. We have just completed the planning stage and are excited for the next steps.

Work is progressing generally very well at our home. An awesome project for us. We are amazed at the scale of the development. Each day for us brings good surprises as we see more work taking place. Valter was very impressive on his initial visit with some exciting ideas for the house improvements and we had no hesitation in choosing Happy Building above the other two building firms who quoted. Having signed off on the budget and scope of work, Valter's team of builders arrived. We were hugely impressed with the skill, experience and work ethic of the team; the fact that they arrived early each morning smiling underlined the "Happy Building" epithet; Jarek, the site foreman, had an especially cheery demeanour. The work involved stripping the walls back to bricks, removing walls, reinforcing foundations, plastering, extending the bathroom and removing one bedroom to create a large ensuite bedroom. The latter certainly would not have been done without Valter's vision and patience in explaining how it would look. We were able to deviate from the original plans without any problem which was very important in achieving the final look which we had desired. Valter was very careful in sticking to time and budgets which I had never experienced before with builders. The kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms, living room and hallways were finished to the highest possible specification within our budget. There were one or two small features which, with hindsight, we would have improved such as door handles and shower fittings, however this was down to us not specifying exactly what we wanted. These are very minor details and a tiny part of the overall picture.

Happy Building carried out a full house refurbishment to high standards. I found them to be punctual, tidy, respectful, quick and very easy to talk to. If anything they are too quick! The work carried out is exactly what we wanted and on a few occasions some alternatives were discussed that were actually better both practically and aesthetically. Highly recommend. They are a pleasure to have around.

Happy Building converted my garage into a studio room which involved digging out the concrete floor, laying a new polished concrete floor with underfloor heating, insulation, damp proofing, new brickwork, doors and windows and a new roof with a large lantern light, new plumbing and electrics and the installation of a shower and toilet. We were delighted with everything that was done. The team are extremely hard working, helpful and their work is to a high standard. Valter is helpful, adaptable and a pleasure to deal with. They dealt very efficiently with any unexpected issues and stuck to their quote. They always arrived on time, dealt with any issues or emails straight away and finished the work on schedule.
