White Lodge is a 200 year old Toll House with significant local history so the clients main objective was to improve the property whilst maintaining the history and enhancing the beauty of the existing building. The existing external wall was to be left exposed internally within the kitchen to give a reminder of the property history. The kitchen is the family’s hub and a place they wanted to have lots of natural light. An open plan kitchen was an important feature, so that it was not only a kitchen but a sociable space, a large kitchen island was key to providing this universal space. Eco features was a client priority so it was a privilege to be bringing this old property up to standards which exceed current building regulations.
