This pretty cottage sits in the heart of the town. When the current owners acquired the house, they decided to undertake significant work to open up the main entertaining space. Two internal walls were removed and supporting steels inserted to create an open plan sitting/dining area. The stairs were re-modelled and the entrance to the kitchen opened up to create a large, airy and light space. The old flooring was removed and replaced with engineered oak floor and period radiators were fitted.

This property had been empty for many years when our team started work on it. The original part of the house was carefully restored and opened up, and a large rear extension was built to provide a generous kitchen/dining space with bifold doors looking out onto the garden. Upstairs, four bedrooms and two bathrooms were created.
To the front of the property, the traditional Georgian windows provide a pleasing contrast with the contemporary cedar-clad and glass entrance.

The Tower House is a unique period property incorporating a four storey Victorian water tower. Our brief was to connect the tower to the house by building a large single storey extension, which created more space in the kitchen, linked in the tower and also housed the new leisure suite. The design included lots of glass, Glulam and local stone to easily marry together the differing architectural styles.

This project involved us taking an unloved former Station Master's house and transforming it into a light-filled luxury three bedroom, three bathroom property. We built a large kitchen extension, using local stone, and matching the existing windows, to ensure it tied into the original building. Externally, the gardens and former train platform were landscaped to make the most of the outdoor space.

This project involved the complete renovation of Swale House, which was originally built in the 1750s. The building was little more than a shell when we began, which we transformed into a highly practical home that combines tradition and cutting edge modernity.
The dwelling is very open plan, with a living room/kitchen area downstairs and a mezzanine level with a bedroom and bathroom. The original arched ceiling keeps the grandeur of the building.
Staley Stonework were awarded best Small Renovation Project for Swale House at the FMB Yorkshire & Trent Master Builder Awards 2017. Find out more about the North West and Yorkshire & Trent awards here.

We were asked by a client to completely overhaul their recently purchased property which had once acted as the reading room for the village. When the owners bought the house, it was clear that it had potential, but also that it required extensive work to bring it up to its current standard.
The work entailed removing walls and opening up doorwys, knocking two rooms into one to create an impressive master suite, raising ceilings and installing new floors. In addition the electrics and plumbing were overhauled throughout and underfloor heating was installed. A wall was removed to create a more workable kitchen, and our joiners installed a fabulous bespoke oak kitchen and utility area.
