We have hired JKL to perform a large scale renovation/extension of our home, all while we were living there, which took nearly 6 months. Although it was a stressful period for the family, Matt and his team did all their best to make the process as smooth as possible for us. If we ever want any construction in our home again, we would surely go with them for the following reasons: - The team was super friendly and professional. I would especially highlight and thank our site manager Mark, who kept his eyes on all players of the constructing team throughout the 6 months. - The standard of quality was never compromised even when the schedule was tight. - They kept us informed throughout the process, we always knew what were the upcoming steps, timelines etc. - Whenever unforseen circumstances occured (eg. asbestos found in suffit), they openly discussed the situation and potential options we could choose from. - They were very supportive whenever we wanted to deviate from the orignal plan

JKL built a single and two storey wraparound extension to our home in Cambridgeshire. It was a large project and our first of this kind, but it ran broadly on time and broadly on budget. There was almost always, with the exception of perhaps two or three days in six months) someone on site from JKL to ensure things kept moving and to keep up a communication channel with everyone involved. The work has been completed to a very good standard and we are very happy with our new space. The team members we dealt with were polite and helpful, which made it easier to have work going on in our home. Jake and Barry, in particular, are excellent. I would certainly use JKL again were I to undertake a similar project in future.

We are so happy with our extension and very glad we chose JKL. Outstanding from start to finish. When we met Matt he was very professional and had some great ideas. Barry stayed with us throughout the kitchen renovation. What a fab fella he is. We received numerous quotes for work, which included demolition, kitchen refit, patio refit, and flat roof replacement. It was Matt’s company only who maintained consistent communication during the decision stage. This, his experience, knowledge and his fair quote, made us choose JKL Construction. We have no regrets. Matt's team were consistently reliable, with excellent work ethics and skills. They went above and beyond what we expected of a building team. In addition, they maintained good humour and politeness throughout - sometimes in circumstances where anyone's patience would have been tried. We were kept fully informed, with payments requested periodically upon percentage completion. Any problems encountered were met with intelligent problem solving, leading to practical solutions, whilst keeping in mind that we were on a budget. Matt answered questions promptly and clearly. From the invitation to tender JKL's approach has been very provisional. On presenting the costs everything was explained and how the PC sums would be spent on our choose of fittings. The construction has been to a very high standard and carried out by very professional and friendly craftsmen. Following the start of the contract work was delayed by serve inclement weather. JKL still completed the work on time and budget. After completion, we have received telephone calls asking if everything is ok and any problems. This shows thought and care in ensuring a satisfied client. Would highly recommend JKL Construction.

JKL Construction & Carpentry Ltd recently built a two story extension compromising a boot/utility room, a dressing room and en-suite to the master bedroom along with a single story extension to extend the existing kitchen to comprise a bigger kitchen, dining and family room with ceiling lanterns, underfloor heating and bi-fold doors to the garden. We were very impressed with the quality of work, the team worked consistently and conscientiously and were willing to go over and above. Our original house dates back to the 1800’s and therefore as the build went along we came up against various unforeseen issues, any necessary uplift on costs was clearly communicated and agreed before going ahead with the extra work. We are delighted with the final result and would highly recommend JKL Construction & Carpentry Ltd for any further work.

This was our first experience doing major building works and JKL were good at leading us through the whole process. Their original quote was reasonable and itemised in a comprehensive way and any changes to this original fee were communicated well throughout the project. We did experience a number of delays throughout the work but these were mostly due to factors outside of JKL’s control, for example the onset of bad weather through the winter months. The team did push at the end of the project to reduce this delay as much as possible. The finished product is excellent. We are delighted particularly with the way the kitchen has been fitted and Mat has been hands-on to the very end to make sure we are happy. Overall we love the new space. It has revitalised our house meaning we can stay here for many more years to come.

Matt and his team did a 1.5 story extension and full refurbishment of our house. They have been very open and honest from the very beginning and included us in all the relevant decisions that had to be made during the build. It has been a challenging time with material and labour shortages, but Matt dealt with all of this without us having to worry about it and his time estimate to completion was spot on (even with adding additional work items during the build). All work has been performed to a high standard and Matt took care of fixing any issue (which are expected due to settlement) after completion.

Matt and his team at JKL Constructions have recently completed a remodelling project in the down stairs of our house (July 2020). This involved demolishing an internal wall, installing a major new structural oak beam, various joinery, installation of new flooring, electrical work and general decoration, all of which was completed and finished to an excellent standard. JKL recently built our extension. We are so pleased with our new space and are so grateful to the team for all their hard work. This was the first building work we’d ever commissioned, so we were understandably nervous but JKL immediately made us feel comfortable.
