We hired Hayes Building contractors to build a single story extension, remove a chimney stack from above roof level, brick up and alter windows and install new drainage as well as a number of other minor works. We did establish before they began that we would sort out all of the finishing off to keep the budget in hand, and so the building work was completed to the level agreed. I would thoroughly recommend them for any building works. They started just a few days after the agreed date (the weather had been atrocious) and completed comfortable before time. The work was done with care and precision and with consideration to our comfort throughout allowing us to live with ease and security. We are delighted with the end result of the build that fulfilled our expectations. Throughout the time they were on site they were unfailingly polite, helpful and very pleasant to deal with. We were given clear accounts of the expenses so were able to see where the costs were incurred. We paid separately for the subcontractors, who were also of a high standard and who continue to do work for us in the finishing off. Therefore we would have no hesitation in endorsing their work and commitment to any building project.

I employed John Hayes and Son builders to complete a 2 phase project starting in September 2013, completing in March 2015. The project involved major internal changes to an existing property and building a new build property from the ground up. In the initial phase they moved an external wall of the existing property 1.4m within the building. They conceived of the idea to build the walls internally before removing the outside wall. This enabled me to keep the property both water tight and secure throughout this whole phase of the project. Every aspect of the building work was completed by them. Foundations, brick and block work, roofing and timber work and installing uPVC windows and doors. The building work was completed as per schedule and was signed off with compliments by the building control inspector. The second phase of the build involved clearing an existing garden and putting a bungalow in. From the start John and Mark proved invaluable to me and my inexperience. Working with them enabled me to plan and organise the build with confidence. Mark and John were involved in most aspects of the entire project. Fencing, setting out, foundation dig, foundation pour, brick and block work, block and beam, stud work, cutting the roof, felting and tiling the roof, installing the services, drainage, soak aways, guttering and fascias, garden walls and paving. Every single building control inspection was met with the highest levels of compliments about the quality and tidiness of the building work. When the project moved into the first and second fix stages, their work was complimented by other trades. The plumber was very happy that the walls were square to install the bathrooms to a great finish. The plasterers were very happy that the walls were straight and flat to enable them to get a great finish. The carpenter was very happy that the doorways were the correct width and square to install the doors with the perfect
