The first step was to provide a separate living space for the mother, who would move into a newly constructed annex. We converted the existing garage into a practical and comfortable living area, incorporating modern finishes with large vaulted ceilings to ensure a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Phase 2: House Reconfiguration and Open-Plan Extension

Once the annex was completed, we moved on to reconfiguring the existing house. The highlight of this transformation is the stunning open-plan kitchen, dining, and family area, which now serves as the heart of the home.

The outbuilding was designed to meet the client's vision for a versatile, modern space. Constructed with premium-grade cedar cladding, the structure exudes natural warmth and elegance. The clean lines and minimalist design complement the contemporary aesthetic of the client's home. To enhance durability and visual appeal, the cedar was treated to maintain its rich tones and resist weathering over time.

Large bi-fold doors framed in sleek black aluminum flood the interior with natural light while providing easy access to the garden. Thoughtful details, such as recessed lighting under the overhang, elevate the building's architectural character, creating a sophisticated and inviting ambiance.
