We removed all affected areas of damage to floors, walls and ceilings and deployed humidifiers to start the drying process to the property. Once the moisture levals were suitable, the affected area re-plastered and the property reinstated to it's original state.

The property was stripped back to the masonry, and the wall in the kitchen was knocked down to make a more modern open plan space. The fire place had to be restored and the bathroom upgraded. We also boarded out the loft space and installed a new boiler system replacement of existing original.

We immediately started the drying process, removing all damaged walls and ceilings. The walls and ceiling were boarded and re-plastered in the kitchen downstairs. After this, we then began the process of re-decoration, stain block was applied to the affected area and the remainder of the house was re-decorated back to it's original state.

On commencement of this project, Knoetze deployed powerful humidifier systems to ensure the simultaneous drying of all areas, achieveing a reduction in moiture levels to an average of 75% throughout the structure.
This project consister of numerous works - including a complete re-wire due to the old electrics being faulty and damaged, removal of any damaged material walls/timber/floors etc and replace like for like. We installed new water mains and upgraded the od water cylinder to a new hot water cylinder.
Knoetze also designed and remodelled the kitchen and living room layout, knocking down existing walls and providing reinforcement with steel beams to create a spacious open plan area.

For this project, Knoetze were called in to tackle an issue of rising damp from the basement of this property; for this, we used a tanking slurry. The next stage of this … Read more For this project, Knoetze were called in to tackle an issue of rising damp from the basement of this property; for this, we used a tanking slurry.
The next stage of this process was to ensure the masonry was prepared thoroughly and the full surface of all walls and floors are cleared and accessible. We then had to hack off any plaster and render the walls along with any previous coatings back to the original masonry, rake out old mortar joints and any other loose materails before finally making sure the walls are dust free. We also checked for cracks and holes in case any repairs were needed.
We then applied 2 coats of tanking slurry leaving time inbetween for curing. After the second coat was dry, we were able to start of reinstating the basement.
