We were asked to transform what was once waste land, unusable space on the school property. The brief was they wanted a building that would have 4 classrooms and toilets which would fit in with the school woodland and surroundings without being an eyesore for the neighbours. It was a challenging site with the only access off a narrow country lane, having to build during term time negotiating delivery times around school drop off and pick up times. A tight schedule of 20 weeks was allowed. We managed to work harder and more efficiently being complete in only 18 weeks, allowing the school to have enough time to set up for the beginning of the summer term.

This job was rather difficult to do however, we managed it in the 8 week schedule. to extend an old victorian building. 26 steels and alot of manpower to reach the target. This was completed ready for the private school to open on time.

Martin and his team worked with our school for a number of years and undertook everything from major restructuring and extending of buildings to refurbishment / interior design, as well as all our remedial and pro-active maintenance.
Martin’s team was always our first choice for all our maintenance and building development needs; during design meetings, careful consideration was paid to our requirements and great sensitivity was paid to the original building and furnishings, as was their approach to working neatly and safely in a school environment. The attention to detail in the finished projects was of a consistently high quality and there was always a great sense of pride in the school and the work undertaken… it felt like there was a genuine personal investment and pride in the craftsmanship. Additionally, all jobs were completed to deadline without fail, regardless of their size – something that is critical in ensuring a school is not disrupted.
Not all projects go according to plan and it was no exception with some of the larger ones; however, these were always dealt with and overcome with clear communication about the issues and what the solution was going to be. And there always was one.
It is essential for any school or organisation to have a company that they can trust to meet all their needs and Martin and the team fulfilled that effectively, building excellent relationships with our staff and always being welcome on site, delivering high quality craftsmanship.
