MCB Developments were commissioned to deliver the refurbishment of the purpose-built maisonette after planning permissions had been granted. We tweaked the architects plans to maximise the space available and create a state-of-the-art residence.
Overlooking the living room is the bespoke kitchen at mezzanine level leading to the frameless glass enclosed roof terrace. Fitted furniture provides an abundance storage throughout whilst natural light pours through the handmade wooden sash windows and frameless architectural glass balustrades. A mixed commercial space home to a private hair salon with a leading spiritual practitioner.
The brief for the tired basement premises was to keep everything simple, practical and attractive. A carefully designed lighting plan allowed us to create different zones, providing a sense of separation throughout the small area. The size constraints forced careful and delicate design of the bespoke furniture; with sprayed pieces blending seamlessly into the surrounding walls and other stained oak pieces crafted to draw the eye and provide focal points within the different work spaces.
The calm environment is a heaven away from the noise and crowds of the street above.
