It was very inspiring to hear about the excellent work being done by the K&M school to get those furthest from the job market into work and to hear from the apprentices themselves. Congratulations and looking forward to hearing more good news.
I think the highlight was the number of people who received awards – it’s really inclusive and says a lot about your values as a company.
It was such an honour to be invited to your K&M Awards last Friday and it was a very special event. Kate and I met interesting people, felt really included and loved learning more about the history of your apprenticeship training and the academy. It was genuinely heart-warming to meet the apprentices and see them get their awards and we found the presentation about the Institute for Apprenticeships really interesting. There has been so much box ticking around this subject over the years, but you have always stood by your vision and cut through the nonsense. The number of lives you will have influenced for the better is fantastic, and of course it’s not just the apprentices themselves, but the people they are in contact with and the families they may have in the future. The benefit of what you start quietly grows and grows.
I think what struck me the most was the absolute admiration and respect the entire K&M team have for each other. In all the organisations I’ve worked for or with, I have never witnessed it at such a level. With a team like that, success comes naturally and the culture is very much part of the reason the learners you work with do so well.
Thank you for inviting me to your awards event this afternoon. It must bring a real sense of pride when you see the winners receive their awards and in particular the role this will play in the young and promising future of these bright stars.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and was so glad to see you all at K&M reflect and celebrate your milestones, outstanding work and achievements by your staff and trainees over the years. The stories were so empowering and it was so good to hear from those whose lives K&M have touched over the years.
The Awards highlighted the culture of togetherness amongst the staff and the drive from top to bottom to produce quality. For an SME to have so many staff receiving 30 & 15 yearlong service awards it highlighted the culture and quality of K&M as an organisation. Talent, commitment and loyalty were at the fore front of the K&M awards, highlighting the culture and quality of the organisation.
It's a pleasure to be involved in continuing to support Kevin in his tireless work with apprenticeships and driving K&M forward in an ever changing industry where there is a need to adapt.
