I hired Nick and his team to reconfigure and fully renovate the first and second floors of our house. This included several walls being knocked down and built, 3 new roof windows (1 dormer), installing new aluminium windows, a new family bathroom, an ensuite, a customised laundry/storage cupboard, 50 sq m of oak flooring and complete decoration throughout. Nick and his team have completed work to a high standard – both at the agreed budget and on time – and sensitively worked around us while we lived on site. We are already planning our next project on the ground floor and will be hiring Nick’s team again to do the job. I received quotes from 6 builders. Nick’s quote was not the cheapest, but it provided the most detail and transparency. He had cost every small detail, meaning there were no additional costs later in the project. Nick was also able to make creative suggestions and politely challenged my ideas when he had better ones. The overall look was important to us – and Nick seems to have a sense of what looks good. This was so reassuring and meant I didn’t have to micro-manage the works. I was impressed that Nick would often suggest methods or finishes that were more complex or expensive to do – even though he was getting paid the same. The team were always polite and friendly – even our neighbours commented. They arrived early every day and often worked after hours to complete certain stages of work, to ensure we weren’t left without toilet/washing facilities, electricity or heating. They left the house clean every day. Nick and I met regularly in the morning to discuss next steps and agree details. On one occasion I wasn’t happy with one bathroom detail. I raised it with Nick and he made the alteration without fuss – it seemed important to him that I was happy. Nick is quiet and calm by nature. He consistently proved able to listen and communicate.

Nick and his team carried out an extensive refurbishment of our 4 bed semi. Including opening up 4 walls, using 4 RSJs. A new shower and bathroom, wood flooring, some new windows, re-plastering and painting, new radiators, garden decking and many other bits and pieces. Overall extremely happy with the way it went. Nick is very polite, considerate and really easy and nice to work with - which I think is one of the most important aspects of a what was for us a big project. There were minor details that caused a little stress but weren't anyones fault, just part of the process. The fact that Nick always answers your call and emails with excellent communication was a real plus. We now have a fabulous house. I have already recommended Nick to a number of friends and would be happy to use again :)

Not knowing where to start having bought a ‘project’ of a house, I appointed Nick initially to move the bathroom upstairs and rebuild the kitchen. When sourcing quotes I found Nick to be the most knowledgeable and he instilled confidence. Nick is an efficient project manager. He kept me on my toes ensuring I had the kitchen, the appliances, bathroom furniture, tiles etc. ready for him to go. He was also very helpful in providing advice. Nick is also very flexible and was happy to undertake additional work on request. Nick’s quoting and invoicing process is meticulous. Each task of the project was costed. At the invoicing period Nick would charge only for tasks completed or by percentage completed. Costs were extremely transparent. I am very happy with Nick and his team’s work. It has all been carried out to a very high standard. The range of trades Nick has on tap is impressive. In addition to the original job Nick and his team - Inserted steels to support chimneys - Re-plaster the whole house - Replaced all rear windows - Rebuilt an internal wall Nick has been available to attend to any snagging and has done so. I will be asking Nick to quote for some more work shortly as I’m very happy with his service and quality of work. Highly recommended.
