R&M Williams have met many challenges and opportunities over the determining 2 yr period, challenges were based around expansion of the business and new sector growth and then as with every business managing the negative impact of Covid in March 2020.

Dealing with the successful outcomes 2019 was an excellent year for R&M as growth continued in the Aviation sector and Cladding replacement market post Grenfell. The projects at Bristol Airport allowed R&M to deliver £20m of award-winning construction. With 10million passengers passing through the Airport per year it also significantly raised the profile of the business in both Wales and the South West.

Through adversity R&M were engaged on recladding schemes on 3 towers for Newport City Homes and Fusion Tower, Bristol. R&M were also invited by both Welsh Government High Rise Safety committee & Westminster to present a “contractors’ perspective” on best practice.

In addition to … Read more R & M Williams undertook this £5.4 million project to transform of a former warehouse on Kings Lane, Swansea, into three floors of office and creative space. In addition to this, we constructed the 'Creative Cluster', a 30,000 sq ft. development of commercial and office space containing over 5 floors. The purpose of the building is to provide a hub for small start-ups and creative companies, as well as space for the performing arts.
Another aspect of this Urban Village project was to part demolish and convert a 100 year old warehouse in the centre of Swansea City into an office block and training centre for long term unemployed people. Part of the original building is Medieval, so it was vital for our site manager to maintain close communication with archaeologists in order to monitor and record any artefacts.
The project team were shortlisted for the Chartered Institute Housing’s “Most Community Focused Contractor", demonstrating our commitment to sustainable construction. The build also won R & M Williams the award for best Commercial Project in Wales at the FMB Cymru Master Builder Awards 2017. Read more about the awards here. Read less
