The project was delivered on time and 10K under budget. The client's main requirement was a house full of character. With that in mind every detail was considered. Having a design with Dormer windows, Hip roofs, stone sills, heads and keystones, English garden wall bond, corbelled brick detailed, Oak Barge Boards, Porch and panelling to the front, Oak garden room at the back of the kitchen, balcony above the garden room (coming off the master bedroom) to make the most of the superb views and built in, low level lighting. All of these elements have helped in building a house "full of character". Rather than using innovative new ideas on the build, my main focus was on packing lots of character into the house by using classic materials of Oak for the Barge Boards, Porch and Garden room. The brickwork is English Garden wall Bond. The flooring throughout is Vinyl tiles and planking which is very much en-trend and look great. For our windows we used a rather new design of flush casement windows in silvered Oak colour, manufactured by residence (R2) who are the innovators in the window industry with this style of window. The home has been shortlisted in the 'Build It' magazine awards for best windows in a new build.

I can highly recommend Dave and his team. He is very well known in the local area and came highly recommended to us by others who had used him and/or were subcontractors who had previously worked alongside him. I was impressed with every stage of the building process. The project was planned and managed well, Dave communicated throughout, as and when challenges came up he provided very useful advice to help us make decisions during the project and has always been available afterwards. Invoicing was clear and transparent and any deviation was explained/agreed up front.
His team of lads work hard, are very friendly and are also very respectful to limit disruption as much as possible. Really happy with the overall project and would recommend RS Burgess time and time again."

Just wanted to say a massive thanks you to you and everyone who worked on this house. I am so pleased with the extension / alterations. I have received many compliments and positive comments on the appearance of the building. It was a scary thing to undertake - especially on my own, but i was really pleased to find someone who I could talk to and who was really interested in what he was doing...When my wife and i were enjoying a drink with your team a week ago, at the end of the final day, i said that of all the very good decisions we've made over the last 18 months, getting RS Burgess & Sons Ltd on board was the best

All the Burgess Team were polite and helpful. When a problem arose Dave listened and discussed solutions amicably. The final landscaping was imaginative and speedily completed. We are very pleased with our new home

The site for the build was unusual and challenging, and ideas from all concerned evolved as the work progressed. Dave attended meetings with ourselves, our architect & structural engineers from the start. He introduced us to his plumber, electrician and joiner for discussions about our requirements. We were kept informed on the next stage of the build and encouraged to discuss any queries with the workforce.
