These guys are the best in the business. Rik, who runs the co, is honestly one of the nicest blokes. Throughout the whole job we felt supported, valued and cared for. Our needs and requirements were always met. The quality of their work is exceptional. Rik genuinely cares about his craft, and that’s reflected in everything they do. Budgets were defined clearly and stuck to, and additional costs clearly explained and checked with us. Trust is vital in this industry, and Rik is a man you can trust. We love our new home so much now thanks to RC BUILDING, and we actually miss having Rik around!

It’s going to be a struggle finding the words to describe how good RC Building Services is…   After not having much luck with builders over the years, from the moment I met Rik when he came to price up the job (single storey extension), we were at ease. He was prompt in getting the detailed quote over to us and was so professional and communicative all the way along – explaining everything in layman’s terms when we had questions and was never pushy to get the business. We had to wait a few months for Rik and his boys to be available but this just shows how good they are. I’ve always been told never to go with a builder who can start a job straight away, the good ones are always booked up. Rik, Josh and Connor arrived at 8:10am and left at 5pm six days a week and grafted the whole time they were here. Rik is a workhorse and he runs a tight ship and his lads a credit to him – they’re brilliant. Rik spent time each day asking what we thought of the work and explaining what they were going to do that day, we were kept informed about every single thing throughout the whole process. We had a couple of blips with our job (through no fault of Rik’s) and extra work needed doing – Rik explained every single detail (more than once to me as I wasn’t getting it!) of what needed to happen and he gave me different options of a workaround. Our new kitchen (from Howdens) looks amazing and we’re so happy with the result, Rik has a great relationship with them and we didn’t have to do much to get things sorted.   Rik and his boys really went over and above what was expected from them – they put our new TV on the wall for us, put up a couple of light fittings and even took a look at our boiler when it packed up. How’s that for service!?   It was good fun having the lads around and you can have a laugh with them; but they are also extremely respectful of your own private home and do their very best to minimise any impact of the build.

Construction of double height extension to one side and single storey extension to the other side of the house, including new structural openings through to the existing. Also carried out the fit out of a new kitchen, utility room, bathroom and ensuite, including all units, appliances, sanitary ware, wall and floor tiles/panels. New internal and external windows and doors. Prior to the construction of the new extensions RC Building Services also demolished the existing... “RC Building Services planned and delivered this project to a very good standard, to an agreed price and timescale. RC were friendly and courteous throughout and liaised both with us as their client and our neighbours to make sure we were informed about the works at each stage. We were also informed of any subcontract works, which were each carried out to very good standard. All additional works were quoted and agreed up front, which helped with budgeting. They worked around us and wherever possible hooked up temporary services so we could continue living at home.”

T H E T E A M Rik has a young, hardworking, skilled team under him. They are prompt, they work 6 days a week, they are never slacking and just constantly on with their tasks for that day. While they are in your home, they are also very respectful of it, your surroundings and your neighbours. All this kind of thing is something that could get lost with most builders/tradespeople but not with these guys. We live in a cul de sac and pretty much every one of our neighbours has complimented Rik's politness and the team's tidiness while they have been around and through a potentially very disruptive time. Rik himself managed the expectations of the neighbours when ever there was going to be a delivery or some potential disruption in the street, most folks would not do that and would put that down to the customer. I think our neighbour's thoughts will help tell you all you need to know. R I K As I've already said, all Rik's team are quality - so thanks Fraser, Luke and Tom for all the building work and to Hayley for all the admin work - but Rik really is the jewel in the crown. From the offset, I've liked his demenaour, his professionalism, his honesty, his vision and his absolute committment to the project. On an evening, or his one day off, we've often been in contact and he's never been anything but welcoming to anything we've needed to discuss. We've worked well as a team over this past 5 or 6 weeks, discussing and taking decisiosn together and it would have been a lot more difficult without Rik's input. His communication skills and his amiability is one of his key skills as well as being skilled across pretty much every trade, of course! Rik understands that he's not just in the business of bricks and mortar but that it's really a people business. He and his team are changing people's lives,especially with work like extensions. It's a huge piece of work and it often gives you so much improvement to your life

M O N E Y The quote given was accurate and fair for the job, as ours was a little more money due to a tricky site but that's understandable and was fully communicated up front. The main quote barely changed (only for an extra bit of steel we needed was only decision out of our hands) and it was only our additional stuff that we requested in our old kitchen that meant a slight increase in the price against the original quote. Again our decision, so they Rik can be totally trusted price wise to deliver what he says he is going to deliver. The payments are all broken down up front and I really liked this because it made the money payments more manageable. Hayley was really good at delivering the invoices each week so you knew exactly where you were. Overall, these guys are value for money, because of all the things I've already discussed. Quality of the work, speed of the work, amount of work and friendliness while doing the work. S U M M A R Y If you have a building project, especially an extension, then don't think twice about getting these guys. There's no point looking anywhere else. I'd even be tempted to say if there's a little bit of a wait for their services - they are so busy because they are good - then they'd be worth that wait. We really could not be happier. Thanks Rik and all the team. It's been a pleasure having you in our lives and I cannot wait for the next project. In the meantime, Laura, Oskar, Grayson and I wish you every success in your future projects, I'll be following with interest. "

This was a very technical build: a glass roof, a complex angled build to produce the separate utility room, a designer pocket door and a need to be sympathetic to our period building. Rik and his team rose admirably to the challenge choosing matching reclaimed bricks, finding a way to fit the glass roof when the manufacturers delivered the wrong size and doing a great job of finishing touches like tiling and doors. Whilst here Rik, Luke and Frazer were reliable, all courteous and tidy and did their best to make it possible for me to live with a building site

Would definitely recommend Rik and his team. He is conscientious and extra reliable and works 6 days a week (even bank holidays!). His team of 3 are young (as is Rik), but that shouldn't put anyone off. He's had bags of experience with extensions, kitchen fitting and tiling. Their punctuality cannot be faulted. Site tidiness is good too. Workmanship is excellent and he's always ready to listen to your ideas and/or opinions. Anything that may not be quite how you want it, just discuss it with him. He will tend to go the extra mile. Communication, again, cannot be faulted

Rik and his team built us a large extension and a new porch. During this time Rik and his colleagues were extremely hardworking and keen to achieve the results that we wanted. Rik kept us up to date with how work was progressing and even when there were issues Rik 's calm approach and logical mind usually sorted things out.The job lasted quite a few weeks and during this time the positive, friendly and respectful attitude of the team never wavered. The whole project was handled efficiently and professionally by Rik and his team.

We would 100% recommend RC Building Services Ltd. Rik’s work ethic and attention to detail are second to none. We chose RC Building Services to build our single story rear extension based on his reviews, photographs of previous work, meeting him in person and his competitive quote. We definitely made the right choice. Rik is hard working, professional, courteous and somewhat a perfectionist. Throughout our build the team arrived at 8:10am on the dot and worked 6 days a week until the project was complete. There was no leaving site to work on other projects, no skiving, not once did I see a single newspaper or someone sat down with a cup of tea! Just hardworking, honest graft with a boss who takes immense pride in his work. Rik is very organised and tidy, spending the last 15mins before leaving site each day tidying up and leaving things just so. Keen to update on a daily basis with regards to progress and was approachable with any ideas or changes. In a nutshell, Rik is a conscientious builder, very proud of his work and keen to please and get things just right for his clients.
