We are very pleased to be able to highly commend SJD Joinery and Building Contractors for their work on our Victorian Rectory. Built in 1866 the house was in desperate need of a total refurbishment after our purchase in June 2017. We discovered SJD as a recommendation from a local bed and breakfast business that had just had renovations carried out and had been very pleased with the result. The Old Rectory works were extensive including structural as well as a complete upgrade of plumbing, electrics, bathrooms (including new en-suites) and complete new kitchen. All of the five chimney stacks had to be rebuilt in stone which was not an easy task. Wallpaper in many layers was removed along with "grotty carpets" at the start and at the end of the refurbishment a complete redecoration made the house stand out. Stephen provided end to end project management and there was never a day when the project was not being advanced at pace. Always professional, pleasant and encouraging even when the challenges looked to us to be too great . What was so welcome were the suggestions that gave us the ideas that shaped our house especially as we were doing the redesign ourselves. So completed after five months in January 2018 we are extremely pleased and now settled in. In summary this was an extensive house refurbishment and we highly recommend SJD. Rod and Liz H
