Following the sudden, unexpected death of my younger sister in August 2021, we took her 3-year-old little boy into our care. Arlo is autistic with quite complex needs, we knew an extension was desperately required to give us the extra space to meet his needs. Chris Shaw came to our rescue. We told him the amount of money we had available. Despite it falling very short of the amount needed, he committed to completing this build. After listening carefully to why we needed this extra space, he agreed to build. He also wanted to create a safe, paved outdoor area and make our garden a secure space. He publicised our plight to various tradesmen. Through his enthusiasm, encouragement and his urge to help, many agreed to come and give their skills for free. It was incredible to see bricklayers, roofers, joiners, electricians and plumbers all arriving at various points to give their time freely for the benefit of our family. It was very humbling. Our gratitude goes beyond words.
