Our Client asked us to use the planning drawings she had commissioned to design in detail and build her barn conversion.

This involved following a complex set of planning conditions, obtaining Building Regulations approval, and coordination of all detailed design elements.

We have installed a new roof to replace the existing failing roof structure.  Built an extension and created openings to connect the new and the old.  The existing building required underpinning, and deep-repointed existing stone walls with lime mortar.  We built a new suspended ground floor and interior shell inside the existing building.  This was to lift the floor levels above the expected flood levels and to provide high levels of insulation.

This project is under construction into 2024.

We have undertaken a lot of roofing projects in addition to our building activities. 

Many new and replacement roofs

We have worked with most materials modern and traditional. 

When working on roofs more often than not the chimney needs to be repointed and chimney pots reset with new cowls... all of which we undertake regularly.

Our team regularly installs roof lights when undertaking roof works and where necessary we can apply for planning permission on your behalf.

We replace and install gutters including Cast Iron, Aluminium and Plastic.

We designed and built a small modern office extension in the conservation area in Pickering.

Most of the work was undertaken whilst the client was using the existing building building.

The work included the demolition of an old and poorly planned rear section of the existing building.

The sewers and utilities were very complex.  We fixed problems with the sewer and created a new connection.  We rationalized the gas, water, and electric connections which took a lot of project management with the respective utility companies!!!

The new extension is stone built with Aluminium windows and doors with a zinc roof.

We are really pleased withthe design and the resulting quality of build.

We designed a pair of houses with a brief for a traditional design with modern energy efficiency.  We gained planning permission to replace an existing house with two.  

The Houses have a really good airtightness that complements the MVHR (A ventilation system with Heat Recovery).  The walls are highly insulated complemented with good quality thermal and acoustically insulated windows and doors.  The combination of these elements and high attention to detail has led to these houses being incredibly energy-efficient and low-cost to run per annum.  

These houses were designed to be let out.  The feedback from the tenants has been wonderful and they intend to stay in these houses for a long time, which is brilliant.
