After demolition we engaged with the architect and client to produce this stunning dwelling. The house ticks all the boxes, with smooth, contempory design, a high level of energy efficiency and a mechanical ventilation system. This is a house that is built for the future and is a credit to the designer.

This project involved the renovation and extension of a property that is positioned above a Grade II listed shop in the centre of York, so required a very delicate approach.
The award-winning architect needed a contractor to work alongside the client and architect to build a bespoke property. Whilst the shop was to remain open for the duration, we sympathetically renovated and built a framed extension to provide stunning contempory accommodation right in the city centre.
Managing to overcome the many challenges, we completed the project on time and budget. The client was overwhelmed by the outcome.

The house was built in to a hillside resulting in the rear elevation of the lower ground floor being a basement with all the attendant excavation , drainage and damp proofing considerations. The roof design with clerestory windows, sedum roof and cantilevered soleil brise added further challenges.

York Builder took on this project to update a local Commercial property from a dated old unit into a high specification office and workshop facility.
We were asked to build a new factory and showroom for this distinguished business. A steel framed building was erected and clad in leathered granite, along with structural glazing to the front elevation. The business required a light and modern interior for the new offices. Temperature controlled heating was fitted to provide a pleasant working environment for the workforce.
