The incredible home office was built in the top corner of a sloped garden, which required significant work to level the ground before construction could begin. Due to access restrictions, this initially had to be undertaken without the assistance of machinery.
This new home office features air-conditioning, underfloor heating, cedar cladding, aluminium windows and doors, composite decking, glass balustrades, and LED strip lights.
With the groundwork out of the way and a sleeper retainer wall installed, the team began to bring the bespoke design to life. The project required the installation of air-conditioning, underfloor heating, cedar cladding, aluminium windows and doors, composite decking, glass balustrades, LED strip lights a networking cable; all brought in to facilitate a comfortable workstation for the client.
This project held a special place in this Master Builder’s heart, as the client was a local resident and a “pillar of the community”.
Oakston Solutions Limited also expertly handled changes to the project including adapting the original plan for decking across the building to using glass balustrades with central decking instead.

Throughout the project, daily meetings were held to provide updates on the progress of the builder, discuss changes and ensure the client was happy with the final outcome. The client noted that “nothing was too much trouble even though I changed my mind weekly”, and they were over the moon with the completed build.

The independent judges recognised this as a wonderful example of what can be achieved with a bespoke design and a great working relationship between builder and client.
