Despite the technical challenges associated with working on such an old building, IPSUM (UK) Ltd worked hard to realise their client’s vision for a well-lit, open plan family kitchen which could also serve as a focal point for the home and a space for entertaining.
The new space features a large kitchen island, and a direct view of the beautiful rear garden and nearby woodland. Another key highlight is the former toll house wall, which has been carefully restored and now adds contrast and texture in this modern kitchen. The team stated that it was a privilege to have worked on a property with such a rich local history. They are rightfully proud of the way they were able to bring together old and new in this special build, which boasts excellent energy efficiency. Bespoke units and exceptional attention to detail in the kitchen are the result of great communication and discussion with the client.

The national judges were impressed with the way this builder overcame not just the technical challenges associated with the build, but also the access issues presented by the site and the need to manage relationships with neighbours concerned about the noise during the project. They praised the ambition and the sustainability goals associated with the project, and described the end result as a 'stunning, "wow" kitchen.'
