In mid-March, FMB members had another opportunity to join a business planning workshop in Bristol led by construction industry coach and FMB associate member, Robin Hayhurst. This followed on from the success of sessions held in London and Manchester and gave members the opportunity to review their businesses and plan for the future.
What was covered?
The workshop looked at creating an ideal five-year business structure and identifying the skilled team needed to help to achieve the goals. It also looked at overhead costs and realistic turnover targets and in turn, the size and number of projects needed to meet these ambitions.
Members also had the opportunity to speak with Laurence Stone, Senior Customer Engagement Manager from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) about grants and other support available, including training and apprenticeships grants.
Networking with other members
The day also provided a great opportunity for members to network, share issues and provide advice on how they’ve dealt with challenges as well as explore ways they may be able to work together.
Part of the support available
As well as these workshops, members can also register for business coaching with Maria Coulter as well support via the member resources section of the app and website.
