Construction Industry Collective Voice (CICV) is comprised of leading construction trade and professional organisations in Scotland. All represent their individual members and the FMB plays a leading role within the CICV.

We collaborate to lobby the Scottish Government, share advice and produce guides and best practice to help small and medium sized construction firms.

Tell me more about this Best Practice Guide

The guide follows the results of a recent CICV payment survey which some FMB members completed. It is aimed at helping contractors and sub-contractors improve cashflow and prevent costly and damaging disputes.

The CICV looked at the most common reasons for payments being delayed and changed, and has prepared this guide to help companies and individuals understand how to avoid them.

Putting many of the helpful practical tips in the guide into practice, will help construction companies improve the way they organise the commercial management of projects from tender stage to completion.

Who wrote the Guide?

A group of experts and consultants from a range of industry bodies and the National Hub Programme Director of Scottish Futures Trust were the main authors.

Where can I read it?

The CICV Best Practice Guide can be downloaded here. You can register for the webinar taking place on Friday 3 March where a panel of CICV experts will discuss the Best Practice Guide and offer further advice.

This will be recorded so the FMB can share it with FMB members after Friday 3 March.
