Meritcape Limited took home the national Commercial Project Award for its work on the development of this 1920s-styled, six-storey office development in Islington, London.
Carefully crafted iridescent blu-glazed Faience tiles, frame steel ‘Crittal’ windows, shuttered concrete soffits, curtain wall glazing and clay-engineering bricks have been brought together by this Master Builder to create an incredible new landmark office built to stand the test of time.
The interior features bespoke handmade oak panelling and rough-shuttered, concrete-planked ceilings served by modern technologies to create a sustainably built and highly energy efficient commercial space. The build boasts a BREEAM Excellent rating (EPC Band A) and an A-grade commercial property rating, with the office spaces offering 81% floor plate efficiency; allowing prospective clients to make the most of the quality space available.
From floor to ceiling the offices measure an impressive 2.8 metres, increasing to 3.65 metres on the ground floor and with 200 square metres of extensively planted biodiverse roofing to further enhance the building’s sustainability factor.
