Coping during the holiday season
More information and support can be found on The Lighthouse Club's website.

For many, a break and family time are always welcome, but often too it’s a time of added stress and anxiety, because of several factors.

The Lighthouse Club, focusing on assisting the construction industry, offer incredible help for many. So many of their calls are due to financial issues and of course Christmas for some people isn’t a happy time because of bereavement or other traumas they have been through.

Certainly, over this last year, it’s been rewarding and encouraging to help more FMB members become aware of Lighthouse. Being able to signpost that help has hopefully made some very challenging business and personal situations more hopeful.

By its nature the construction industry for small contracting firms and sole traders can feel like an isolated place. The FMB wants our members to feel that sense of community and support which strengthens us all to continue to feel fulfilled.

Whilst we may personally find support networks and ways to cope with pressure, we want to also think about those who we work or meet. Can we be mindful of those around us or perhaps consider too the pressures our family members can be under? Particularly at this point in the year external pressure seem to affect many of us.

Help is available

We would encourage all to read and share the help offered through the recent ‘coping during the holiday season’ campaign offered by the Lighthouse Club.
